Honey, We're Home!

I meant to write an entry yesterday but instead got caught up in the craziness that is unpacking from a weeklong trip and trying to get ready for normal routines in a single day. Next year we're so coming home sooner than the Saturday Night before we go back to School and Work. We still don't have groceries and I have no idea what meals we're having for the rest of the week/month. I'll set aside some time today or tomorrow to do the meal plans and grocery lists.

We're putting the kittens on a diet starting tonight. They've gotten fat in a bad way. Unita has gone from slightly chubby to round and Stella is a black ball of fur. And that's on low-calorie food. We're going to put them on a single feeding and separate them. I think Stella ends up eating all of Unita's uneaten food. So right now they're really mad at me for not feeding them.

The week in Nova Scotia was good. Really laidback and quiet. I could almost feel myself literally unwind. I wind myself up so tight in the day-to-day demands and routines we have and I only realize how uncomfortable that makes me when I'm forced to slow down. I stupidly checked the SkyWorks email once while I was out there and there was an email from a customer with a problem -- until I realized that there was no possible way I could do anything about it, I managed to work myself into a tense ball again. I'll deal with the problem once I post this, now that I have access to the information and details needed.

I ended up with quite the giftage "haul" this Christmas. It was something of a shock. I'm used to that quiet feeling of disappointment and wondering if anyone really knows me. (which is unforgivably rude and I usually refrain from saying anything about it to anyone) But this year everyone surprised me.

And now after a phone call and a crushed pinky finger (OW!), that's 30 minutes. Heh.
